Riot Games will limit Chinese children to their time in League of Legends.

League of Legends is becoming more popular in China, so the government demanded that the Tencent subsidiary set up a tracking method and limit game hours from young gamers in LoL. Thus, the state is struggling with gambling addiction.

According to the report of the American newspaper LA Times, the League of Legends will disconnect children from matches after overcoming the two-hour daily limit, provided that players do not receive a large penalty or ban. Also, young gamers will not be allowed to play from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. The game will pop up a window-message if the limit works soon.

Since 2018, gaming companies in China have been fulfilling the requirements of the state to introduce methods for regulating the time that young people spend in the game. In games, Epic Games have already implemented a similar technology.

Whether a similar system will be introduced in other regions is unknown.
