Blizzard Entertainment has announced that The Overwatch League grand finals will be held in Philadelphia at the Wells Fargo Center on September 29.

The two top teams will be vying for 1.7 million USD. Winning team will be awarded 1.1 million and the runner-up 600 thousand. The season playoffs will feature 12 of the league’s total 20 teams; the two division winners, the next best four teams by record, and two qualifiers from a play-in tournament.

The event will be streamed on Twitch, and also broadcast on the ABC television network. TSN in Canada; Zhanqi, NetEase CC, Bilibili, and Huya in China; Mediawan in France; Sport1 in Germany; and Eterra TV in Russia also will be airing the Grand Finals. The event will also be broadcast at Overwatch.com.

Tickets will go on sale on June 7. Blizzard said that more details we will hear as the event approaches.

If Philadelphia Fusion will succeed in playoffs, like in 2018, they will be the home team. Comcast Spectacor owns the Wells Fargo Center as well as the Fusion, and is currently planning a home venue within the city for the 2021 season—at an estimated cost of $50M.
